遠藤 達哉（endo tatsuya）- 漫画家

遠藤 達哉（えんどう たつや、1980年–）は、アクションやファンタジー、家族をめぐるコメディを描く漫画家。茨城県生まれ。高校時代から集英社の漫画誌に投稿し、2000年に『赤マルジャンプ』掲載の読切でデビューした。2007年に『ジャンプSQ.』で始まった初連載『TISTA』では、ニューヨークで暮らす少女が暗殺者としての顔を隠しながら生きる姿を描き、担当編集者の林 士平と現地取材を行った。2010年から連載した『月華美刃』では、月の皇位継承者である竹之内 カグヤが政変によって故郷を追われる物語を展開した。連載の合間には読切の制作や他の漫画家のアシスタントを経験し、本人は対談で、同業者の仕事から学ぶことや、周囲の熱意が制作の刺激になったことを語っている。2019年に『少年ジャンプ＋』で始めた『SPY×FAMILY』では、任務のために家族を作るスパイ、暗殺者の妻、他人の心を読める娘が、それぞれの秘密を抱えたまま共同生活を送る設定を組み立てた。諜報活動と学校生活、家庭内の行き違いを組み合わせ、互いの正体を知らない家族の関係を描いた。同作はテレビアニメ化され、2023年には第52回日本漫画家協会賞のコミック部門大賞を受賞した。

Tatsuya Endo (born 1980) is a Japanese manga artist working in action, fantasy, and comedy. Born in Ibaraki Prefecture, he began submitting manga to Shueisha while in high school and made his professional debut with a one-shot in the spring 2000 issue of Akamaru Jump. His first serialized work, “Tista,” began in Jump SQ. in 2007. Set in New York, it followed a young woman living a double life as an assassin; Endo visited the city with editor Shihei Lin to research its setting. Beginning in 2010, “Gekka Bijin,” published in English as “Blade of the Moon Princess,” depicted a lunar princess forced from her homeland by a political upheaval. Between serializations, Endo developed one-shots and worked as an assistant for other manga artists. In an interview, he described learning from their working methods and finding motivation in their enthusiasm. In 2019 he launched “Spy x Family” on Shonen Jump+. A spy ordered to form a family takes in a telepathic daughter and marries an assassin, with each member concealing a secret identity. The story combined espionage with school life and domestic misunderstandings, following the relationships within this improvised household. It was adapted for television animation and received the comics grand prize at the 52nd Japan Cartoonists Association Awards in 2023.
