略歴（Biography）
エスワー・プラサドは、インド出身の経済学者。コーネル大学教授、ブルッキングス研究所シニアフェローを務め、国際金融、通貨政策、新興国経済、中国経済などを専門とする。国際通貨基金（IMF）では調査局金融研究部門の責任者や中国部門の責任者を歴任し、金融のグローバル化や国際通貨システムを研究してきた。代表作『ザ・フューチャー・オブ・マネー ～デジタル革命は通貨と金融をどう変えるのか？～』（原題 The Future of Money: How the Digital Revolution Is Transforming Currencies and Finance）では、暗号資産、デジタル決済、中央銀行デジタル通貨（CBDC）の拡大が、現金や銀行、中央銀行の役割をどのように変えていくのかを各国の事例とともに論じている。
Eswar S. Prasad is an Indian economist specializing in international finance, monetary policy, emerging markets, and the Chinese economy. He is a professor at Cornell University and a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. Previously, he served at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), where his positions included head of the Financial Studies Division and head of the China Division. In "The Future of Money: How the Digital Revolution Is Transforming Currencies and Finance," he examines how cryptocurrencies, digital payments, and central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) are reshaping cash, banking, central banks, and the global financial system.
