エリック・ブリニョルフソン（Erik Brynjolfsson）は、アメリカの経済学者。スタンフォード大学教授、Stanford Digital Economy Lab所長を務める。ハーバード大学で応用数学と意思決定科学を学び、MITで経営経済学のPh.D.を取得。デジタル技術やAIが生産性、雇用、企業組織、経済成長に及ぼす影響を研究し、IT投資と生産性の関係や、技術革新の効果を引き出すための組織変革や無形資産の役割を明らかにしてきた。代表作『ザ・セカンド・マシン・エイジ』（原題 "The Second Machine Age: Work, Progress, and Prosperity in a Time of Brilliant Technologies"、アンドリュー・マカフィーとの共著）では、AI、ロボット、デジタル・ネットワークの急速な発展を産業革命に続く「第二の機械時代」と捉え、技術革新が生み出す豊かさとともに、仕事の自動化、所得格差、必要とされる技能の変化など、デジタル化が経済と社会にもたらす機会と課題を分析している。
Erik Brynjolfsson is an American economist specializing in the economics of digital technology and artificial intelligence. He is a professor at Stanford University and Director of the Stanford Digital Economy Lab. He studied applied mathematics and decision sciences at Harvard University and earned a Ph.D. in managerial economics from MIT. His research examines how digital technologies and AI affect productivity, employment, organizational change, and economic growth, and he was among the early researchers to measure the contribution of information technology to productivity and the complementary role of organizational capital and other intangible assets. In "The Second Machine Age: Work, Progress, and Prosperity in a Time of Brilliant Technologies," co-authored with Andrew McAfee, Brynjolfsson describes the rapid advance of AI, robotics, and digital networks as a new machine age, examining both the prosperity these technologies can create and the challenges they pose through automation, inequality, and changing demands for human skills.
