Elizabeth Strout（エリザベス・ストラウト、1956年生まれ）は、アメリカの小説家、短編作家。ベイツ大学卒業後、法律を学びながら創作活動を続け、小説家としてデビューした。アメリカ北東部の小さな町を舞台に、家族、孤独、愛、記憶、人間関係を繊細な心理描写で描く作品で高く評価され、現代アメリカ文学を代表する作家の一人とされる。2008年刊行の『Olive Kitteridge』は、メイン州の町に暮らす元教師オリーヴ・キタリッジと周囲の人々の人生を連作形式で描いた作品として高く評価され、2009年のピューリッツァー賞 フィクション部門を受賞した。同作はテレビドラマ化され、続編『Olive, Again』もベストセラーとなった。著書に『Amy and Isabelle』『Abide with Me』『Olive Kitteridge』『My Name Is Lucy Barton』『Olive, Again』『Tell Me Everything』などがある。
Elizabeth Strout (born 1956) is an American novelist and short story writer. After graduating from Bates College, she studied law while pursuing a career in fiction. Widely regarded as one of the leading voices in contemporary American literature, Strout is celebrated for her compassionate and psychologically nuanced portrayals of family, loneliness, love, memory, and small-town life in New England. Her novel-in-stories Olive Kitteridge (2008), centered on the life of a retired schoolteacher and the people around her in coastal Maine, won the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. The book was later adapted into an award-winning television miniseries, and its sequel, Olive, Again, also became a bestseller. Her other notable works include Amy and Isabelle, Abide with Me, My Name Is Lucy Barton, Olive, Again, and Tell Me Everything.
