Eliot Duncan is an American writer and artist. He studied philosophy at the American University of Paris and graduated from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. He is also a co-founder of Slanted House, an international queer art collective. His debut novel, “Ponyboy,” follows a trans man moving through Paris, Berlin, and Iowa while confronting addiction, unstable relationships, and rehabilitation. The novel was longlisted for the 2023 National Book Award for Fiction. Through a fragmented and poetic narrative, Duncan explores trans masculinity, the relationship between body and gender, addiction and recovery, and the difficult process of becoming oneself.
