Ed Yong（エド・ヨン、1981年生まれ）は、イギリス系アメリカ人の科学ジャーナリスト、ノンフィクション作家。生命科学、動物行動、微生物、感染症、公衆衛生を主な取材・執筆分野とし、複雑な科学を正確かつ物語性豊かに伝える筆致で国際的に高く評価されている。ブログ「Not Exactly Rocket Science」で注目を集めた後、The Atlantic の科学記者として活躍し、COVID-19パンデミックをめぐる一連の報道で2021年のピューリッツァー賞解説報道部門を受賞した。『世界は細菌にあふれ、人は細菌によって生かされる』では動物と微生物の共生関係を、『動物には何が見え、聞こえ、感じられるのか――人間には感知できない驚異の環世界』では動物たちが知覚する多様な世界を鮮やかに描き、現代科学の魅力と生命の奥深さを幅広い読者に伝えている。
