Anna Burns (born 1962) is a Northern Irish novelist. Raised in Belfast, she is known for fiction that explores everyday life and the psychological effects of the Troubles. In 2018, she won the Booker Prize for "Milkman." Her best-known novel, "Milkman," follows an eighteen-year-old woman living in a community shaped by fear, rumor, and political violence, portraying how surveillance and social pressure shape individual lives.
