Adam Johnson（アダム・ジョンソン、1967年生まれ）は、アメリカの小説家、短編作家。アリゾナ州立大学でジャーナリズムを学び、フロリダ州立大学で創作の修士号（M.F.A.）を取得した。現在はスタンフォード大学教授として創作を教えている。権力、アイデンティティ、人間の尊厳をテーマに、綿密な取材と大胆な想像力を融合させた作品で高く評価されている。2012年刊行の『The Orphan Master's Son』は、北朝鮮を舞台に独裁体制の下で生きる人々を描いた長編小説として国際的な評価を受け、2013年のピューリッツァー賞 フィクション部門を受賞した。著書に『Emporium』『Parasites Like Us』『The Orphan Master's Son』『Fortune Smiles』などがある。
Adam Johnson (born 1967) is an American novelist and short story writer. After studying journalism at Arizona State University, he earned an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Florida State University. He is currently a professor of creative writing at Stanford University. Johnson is acclaimed for combining meticulous research with imaginative storytelling to explore power, identity, oppression, and human resilience. His novel The Orphan Master's Son (2012), set in North Korea, won the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for its powerful portrayal of life under a totalitarian regime. His other notable works include Emporium, Parasites Like Us, and Fortune Smiles, the latter of which received the The Story Prize.
