Yuki Arai (born 1980) is a Japanese literary scholar and Associate Professor at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo and specializes in modern Japanese literature, disability studies, and the cultural history of disability. His research explores the literary and artistic expressions of people with disabilities, as well as the history of disability rights movements in Japan. Widely recognized for bridging literary studies with disability studies, he has played a leading role in bringing the voices and cultural contributions of people with disabilities to a broader audience. His notable books include "Rethinking Disability Discrimination," "Living with Unfinished Words," and "My Life Is Not Meaningless: Reading Tamio Hōjō, a Writer with Hansen's Disease."
